As autumn sweeps through New York City, the crisp breeze ushers in a vibrant season of culture, art, and celebration. From high-profile galas to creative pop-ups and groundbreaking art exhibitions, the city truly comes alive during this colorful time of year. Here’s a roundup of the best events that have made this fall in NYC unforgettable.
Operation Smile Gala 2025: A Night of Compassion and Glamour
The 2025 New York Operation Smile Gala returned to the philanthropic spotlight on November 5, lighting up Sony Hall with a Roaring Twenties-inspired evening of elegance and purpose. Hosted by Pritika Swarup, Founder & CEO of Prakti and Operation Smile Global Ambassador, the event celebrated the power of compassion and transformation through smiles.
Among the honorees were Academy Award® winner Mira Sorvino, who received the Universal Smile Award, and philanthropist Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast), honored with the Cotto Changemaker Award for his advocacy and continued support of Operation Smile’s global initiatives.
Guests enjoyed show-stopping entertainment including a performance of Hot Honey Rag from CHICAGO The Musical by Carmit Bachar of the Pussycat Dolls and Broadway star Jessica Lee Goldyn, followed by performances from Zachary Levi and The Voodoo Orchestra from Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse.
CUUP’s “Home for the Holidays” Pop-Up in SoHo
Adding to the city’s autumn charm, modern lingerie brand CUUP unveiled a cozy, apartment-inspired Holiday Pop-Up in SoHo. Designed as both a retail destination and a “Home for the Holidays” experience, the pop-up offered guests a sanctuary to reconnect, recharge, and find their perfect fit.
Visitors explored CUUP’s Holiday Collection, received complimentary fit sessions, and enjoyed curated experiences from brands like Saie, Moon Juice, The Butcher’s Daughter, and Sidia—all set within a warm, thoughtfully styled space featuring décor from Lulu and Georgia and Bed Threads.
“Taking the time to find a fit that feels good is an act of self-care,” shared Yesenia Torres, CUUP’s Creative Director. “We wanted to create a space that makes that feel like a little indulgence.”
“An Empire Fallen” by Al Diaz at One Art Space
In Tribeca, One Art Space opened its doors to An Empire Fallen, a powerful solo exhibition by legendary graffiti artist Al Diaz. The exhibition drew art enthusiasts, collectors, and curators to witness a striking exploration of cultural empires, rebellion, and reinvention.
A pioneer of New York’s graffiti scene, Diaz rose to prominence in the late 1970s alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat through their iconic SAMO© graffiti collaboration. An Empire Fallen continues that legacy — blending text, symbolism, and social commentary in a collection that captures the raw spirit of New York’s underground art movement.
“Al Diaz represents the heartbeat of New York’s art underground — rebellious, poetic, and historically resonant,” said MaryAnn Giella McCulloh, co-owner of One Art Space. “The opening was electric. You could feel how deeply this city still connects to his story.”
