After more than four decades in Louisville, Equip Exposition, the international trade show for landscape, outdoor living, and outdoor power equipment, has announced a major venue update. Beginning in 2029, the event will adopt a two-city rotation model, alternating between Louisville, Kentucky, and Orlando, Florida.
Under the new plan, Orlando will host Equip Exposition in 2029, 2031, and 2033, while Louisville will continue hosting the show in 2028, 2030, and 2032, preserving its long-standing role as the event’s original home.
Why the Two-City Rotation?
According to event organizers, the decision is designed to offer exhibitors and attendees greater flexibility, expanded programming opportunities, and improved accessibility—especially for international participants.
“This rotation gives our exhibitors and attendees the best of both worlds,” said Kris Kiser, President of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), which owns and manages Equip Exposition.
Orlando’s convention infrastructure provides:
- Expanded space for dealer meetings
- Increased co-location opportunities
- More flexible venues for exhibitor and attendee programming
At the same time, the rotation allows organizers to collaborate with Louisville on enhancing its Outdoor Demo Yard, a signature feature described as the only venue of its kind in the United States, where attendees can test equipment in real-world conditions.
Record Growth Fuels Expansion
The announcement comes as Equip Exposition continues a streak of record-breaking growth.

Since OPEI assumed full management of the event in 2022, the show has expanded in attendance, exhibit space, and overall industry impact—setting new records for four consecutive years.
“We’ve created a platform where industry professionals can see thousands of products, test real-world equipment, and make critical business connections,” Kiser added.
Louisville Remains a Core Part of Equip’s Identity
Despite the expansion, Louisville’s role remains firmly intact. Equip Exposition 2026 will be held October 20–23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center, continuing the show’s 42-year legacy in the city.
Organizers are already working with Louisville Tourism and Kentucky Venues to further enhance the Outdoor Demo Yard experience.
“Louisville has been our home for 42 years—this is where Equip began,” said Kiser. “We’re proud of that history and the extraordinary hospitality the city has shown our attendees for decades.”
